Migration challenges - legal responses
More about the research objective
The group's research on "Migration and Central Europe" aims at and focuses on the interpretation of the UN Refugee Convention; the examination of EU and Member States' competences; the role and jurisprudence of national constitutional courts; and the related jurisprudence of the Council of Europe, including the ECtHR, from a Central European perspective, and its further development.
The group will also provide an overview of the theory and practice of return of irregular migrants, including readmission agreements, as well as difficulties of implementation and dilemmas related to legal certainty.
The group is supported by a further 24 "external" researchers from the Czech Republic (3), Croatia (3), Poland (3), Hungary (3), Romania (3), Serbia, Slovakia (3) and Slovenia (3), who contribute to the group's work by writing technical papers.
