Protection of family in the legal system
More about the research objective
The research team addressed the protection of marriage and family as fundamental values, focusing on the relevant international legal instruments as well as on the legal background of the individual Central European countries. In the latter area, the research covered the definition of marriage and the family, the constitutional law and constitutional court practice on the protection of marriage and the family, and the different levels of protection (constitutional, civil, family) of institutionalised forms of same-sex and same-sex partnerships (marriage, registered partnership, de facto partnership).
The study touched on the legal facts that give rise to paternity and maternity (presumptions of paternity, adoption, etc.) and related issues of parental custody rights in each Central European nation-state.
The research team also looked at the extra-legal instruments for the protection of marriage and the family - economic policy, family and social policy, socialisation, etc.
Book
The publishing house's mainly English-language books and journals help to build dialogue between the national scientific communities of the Central European region, and enable high quality scientific output to be disseminated outside the region.
