On november 4-5, PhD students at CEA had the privilege of attending a lecture led by Prof. Dr. Slavko Djordevic, a distinguished professor of private international law from the University of Kragujevac. On the first day, Prof. Djordevic explored how contemporary political discourse impacts the interpretation of law and analyzed the 1996 Hague Convention’s role in cross-border family matters. On the second day, he discussed the distortion of law during the Third Reich, examining how Nazi legal principles dismantled constitutional safeguards, and the system of checks and balances.
