On the 18th and 19th of February 2025, the esteemed Associate Professor Ivan Šimović from the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, delivered lectures to second-year PhD students and junior researchers at the Central European Academy. The lectures focused on the right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion (Article 14 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child). Discussions covered conflicts arising from the right of the child's parents to determine the child's religion and the child's rights—the right to education, the right to life, survival and development, the right to physical integrity, self-determination, and the right to the highest attainable standard of health—particularly through the lens of ECtHR case-law. We are deeply grateful for his visit and for the inspiring lectures!
