We were honoured to host Prof. mr. dr. A. (Ton) van den Brink, one of Europe’s leading scholars in EU legislative studies, on April 14-15, 2025. Prof. van den Brink is a Full Professor and Jean Monnet Chair of EU Legislative Studies at the Utrecht University School of Law, as well as a Board Member of the Utrecht Centre for Shared Regulation and Enforcement in Europe. His extensive academic and professional experience make him a highly respected voice in the field of European Union law
During his visit, Prof. van den Brink delivered an inspiring and in-depth lecture series on the EU’s legislative procedures and the national implementation of EU legal mechanisms. Students had the unique opportunity to engage with complex legal and institutional questions, exploring how EU laws are created, applied, and enforced across different member states.
Throughout the sessions, lively and thought-provoking discussions unfolded, allowing students to gain critical insights into the legislative dynamics and challenges of the European Union. His lectures not only deepened our understanding of EU governance but also motivated many to further explore the role of law in European integration.
