Introduction
Tímea Barzó is Professor of Law and Head of the Department of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Miskolc.
Since 2016, she has also been a second-time lecturer at the Department of Civil Law at the Faculty of Public Governance and International Studies of the University of Public Service in Budapest. She is the Chief Director of the Central European Academy of the University of Miskolc.

She has been a member of the Central European Academy’s Professor’s Networks for several years, and this research group is currently the third group in which she participates.
In the case of two of the three former groups, she is also the editor of the final books of the projects.
She specialises in family and medical law and is a member of the authors’ team of commentaries on the Family Law Book of the Civil Code of 2013, which was published by various publishers. In 2017, she wrote a monograph in the field of family law entitled ‘The Legal Order of the Hungarian Family’. Barzó has served as an attorney-at-law for more than two decades.

She is PhD supervisor in the „Central European Comparative Law” PhD programme at the Ferenc Deák Doctoral School of Law of the University of Miskolc.
