Marcin Wielec a varsói Stefan Wyszyński Bíboros Egyetem professzora. Jelenleg a varsói Stefan Wyszyński Bíboros Egyetem jogi és közigazgatási karának dékánhelyettese és a büntetőeljárási tanszék vezetője. A varsói Igazságügyi Intézet vezetője (2019-2024). A krakkói Prof. J. Sehn Igazságügyi Szakértői Intézet Tudományos Tanácsának alelnöke, a Lech Kaczyński Nemzeti Közigazgatási Iskola Tanácsának tagja (2021-2024). A Közép-európai Professzori Hálózatnak a tagja és a Lengyel-Magyar Kutatási Platform elnevezésű nemzetközi kutatási projekt társalapítója. A Magyar Érdemrend lovagkeresztjével tüntették ki.

A 2021-es Közép-európai Professzori Hálózat „Szociális média és véleménynyilvánítási szabadság”, a 2022-es Közép-európai Professzori Hálózat a „A magánélethez való jog”, illetve a 2023-as Közép-európai Professzori Hálózat „Migrációs kihívások – jogi válaszok” című kutatócsoportjainak vezetője és tagja volt.
Jelenleg a 2024-es Közép-európai Professzori Hálózat „Egyenlőség a folyamatosan integrálódó unióban” című kutatócsoportjának vezetője és tagja.
A CEA Publishing következő könyvsorozatainak és tudományos folyóiratainak szerkesztőbizottsági tagja: a) Young Researcher’s Monograps, b) Law, Identity and Values, c) Central European Journal of Comparative Law, d) Central European Academy law Review.
