On June 25, 2025, the Central European Academy held its very first graduation ceremony, celebrating the inaugural class of graduates in the Academy’s history.
Established on 1 January 2022 in Budapest as a separate legal entity of the University of Miskolc, the CEA built upon the university’s long-standing academic tradition, rooted in Selmecbánya (now Banská Štiavnica). In just a few years, the Academy became a vibrant hub for scientific excellence and international collaboration in Central Europe. Through the CECL PhD Programme and the CEA Internship Programme, it provided a unique platform for interdisciplinary research, legal scholarship, and professional growth.
The Farewell Event was a moment to reflect on the achievements of the junior researchers who had contributed to the Academy’s vision. Their dedication and academic success stood as a testament to the strength of the CEA’s mission—to foster high-quality research and meaningful cross-border dialogue.
This celebration was not only an opportunity to honour the accomplishments of the first cohort but also a heartfelt occasion to wish them well as they continued their academic and professional journeys. Whether they pursued further research, entered the legal profession, or engaged in public service, they carried the spirit of the CEA with them.
The entire CEA community—senior researchers, mentors, colleagues, and friends—came together to recognise this milestone and to celebrate a promising future for its distinguished alumni.
