Introduction
Vasilka Sancin, PhD, is a professor of international law at the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana. She is the head of the Department of International Law and the director of the Institute of International Law and International Relations. She is a member (2022-2025) and vice-president (2024) of the UN Human Rights Council Advisory Committee, as well as a member and vice-president (2019-2022) of the UN Human Rights Committee.

Among other roles, she is a selected judge and board member at the OSCE Court of Conciliation and Arbitration; an expert on the OSCE Moscow Human Rights Mechanism; and the president of the Slovenian branch of the International Law Association (ILA).
