Introduction
Prof. Dr. Szibilla Buleca is a senior researcher and department head, an internationally recognized legal scholar and academic with over 25 years of outstanding teaching and research experience. She has extensive expertise in health law, civil law, particularly personality rights and family law. She is currently a senior researcher at the Central European Academy of the University of Miskolc (CEA UM) since July 10, 2024, and has been a department chair professor at the Faculty of Civil and Civil Procedure Law at Uzhhorod National University since 2001. She established her international scientific reputation through her guest professorships at the prestigious Universities of Pisa and Florence from 2022 to 2025, and also contributed to international science through her research work at the Sant’Anna Scuola Superiore in Florence in 2026.
He actively participates in the work of various doctoral councils, such as the Doctoral Council of the Odessa and Ivano-Frankivsk Doctoral Schools, and is also president of the RED CAMPARA organization in Ukraine and a member of the Ethics Committee of the University of Uzhhorod. He contributes significantly to the enrichment of legal literature through his publications and editorial activities, including membership of the editorial board of the journal of the University of Miskolc.

In terms of his educational and academic degrees, he completed his legal studies at the National University of Uzhhorod, obtained his PhD in 2003 and his DjurSc degree in 2016 at the National University’s „Odessa Law Academy,” and received his habilitation title at the National University of Odessa Law Academy in 2017. His professional experience has also been linked to the University of Uzhhorod since the beginning of his career in 2001, where he has more than 25 years of practical teaching experience, including lectures, practical exercises, and seminars in various legal disciplines, as well as active participation in university research projects and scientific student circle work. In 2021, he successfully naturalized his Ukrainian national law degree at the University of Miskolc.
His research areas include health law (medical malpractice, patient rights, bioethics, health data protection, reproductive rights), civil law (contract law, property law, personal rights, tort law, contract law, digital law), family law (legal regulation of marriage and cohabitation, child protection, guardianship, alimony, legal aspects of divorce), and comparative law, which includes comparative analysis of the Ukrainian, Hungarian, and Italian legal systems and international legal harmonization. His selected publications include his activities as a senior researcher and editor for CEA Publishing’s ‘Young Researchers’ Monographs’ and ‘Quintessence Monograph Series’ book series from 2024, as well as a member of the editorial board of the University of Miskolc’s journal.
