Human Rights Days II was the second annual international human rights conference organised by the Central European Academy of the University of Miskolc. The opening conference, held in 2025, marked the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the European Convention on Human Rights in Rome. This year’s conference celebrated the presentation of four human rights-themed books published in the book series “Human Rights – Children’s Rights” by the Central European Academic Publishing.
The conference, therefore, followed the topics addressed in the presented books, including universal human rights protection in the United Nations; the European Convention on Human Rights; the protection of human rights in other regional human rights systems; and the protection of the environment in international human rights law. The specificities of the presented books were, on the one hand, that they addressed human rights issues from a Central European perspective in the aforementioned contexts, and on the other, that they integrated the contributions of authors from the region. Human Rights Days II served as a platform for discussion with the editors and authors of the newly published books, revolving around the best practices and specific challenges in the field of human rights in the region.
