Marieta Safta a bukaresti Titu Maiorescu Egyetem PhD Habil professzora, ahol alkotmányjogot és politikai intézményeket, uniós jogot és alkotmánybíráskodást tanít az EU-ban. Az egyetem szenátusának alelnöke, valamint a bukaresti Gazdasági Tanulmányok Akadémiája Doktori Iskolájának tagja.

Safta asszony dolgozott a román Alkotmánybíróságon, ahol volt bíró-asszisztens, főbíró-asszisztens, első bíró-asszisztens, valamint a Velencei Bizottság összekötő tisztviselője. Az Igazságügyi Minisztériumban államtitkári pozíciót töltött be. Safta asszony választottbíró a bukaresti Nemzetközi Kereskedelmi Választottbíróságon.

Tagja volt a 2022-es Közép-európai Professzori Hálózat „Nemzeti szimbólumok alkotmányos védelme” és a 2023-as Közép-európai Professzori Hálózat „Az együttélés jövője az Európai Unióban” című kutatócsoportjainak. Jelenleg tagja a 2024-es Közép-európai Professzori Hálózat „Egyenlőség a folyamatosan integrálódó unióban” című kutatócsoportjának.
