As part of the implementation of tasks resulting from the Assisted Reproductive Technologies research project, I organized the II International scientific conference for young scientists as a dissemination event. Legal ways to solve demographic problem in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference took place on November 22, 2024 in Warsaw (Poland). Due to the costs of organizing the international conference, it was organized remotely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The idea of the cyclical conference arose during the implementation of a project on solving demographic problems in Europe, which was organized by the Central European Academy based in Budapest in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference \u2013 as its title suggests \u2013 was addressed to young scientists. The invitation to participate in the conference in 2024 was accepted by scientists from Croatia, Poland, Hungary and Serbia. They were both young doctors and doctoral students from several research centers in Central Europe (Central European Academy \u2013 University of Miskolc, War Studies University, University of Opole).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Scientific research by the international team of experts of the Central European Academy in 2024\/2025 concerns Assisted Reproductive Technologies. The research on ART is, in a sense, a continuation of the 2023\/2024 project on solving demographic problems in Central Europe. Therefore, the multiplier event of the ART project was organized as part of the conference series \u201cLegal ways to solve demographic problem in Europe\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Young scientists from Central Europe raised several important research topics related to the title issue. As Dr. Micha\u0142 S\u0142u\u017calec PhD noted in his paper entitled Family-friendly policy<\/p>\n\n\n\n
as a way to combat depopulation, a lot depends on the state and its family-friendly policy, also in demographic issues. The perspective of constitutional law and the activities of constitutional courts was present in the speech of Gell\u00e9rt Nagy (PhD Candidate CEA). In his lecture entitled The Impact of European Regional Courts on the Constitutional Protection of the Family in Romania, he drew attention to the most important decisions on the title issue, but also to the role of the Constitution as the basic law in the state in shaping the family policy of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Support through various social programs for people who are planning children and those who already have children can be an important pro-demographic factor. This was discussed, among others, by Aleksandra Drozd (PhD Candidate ASzWoj) in her paper entitled Systemic support for future parents and parents as a solution to demographic problems. Nevertheless, as the speakers noted, the example of Poland shows that financial support for families due to the birth or having a child is not always sufficient. In Poland, the 800+ Programme (formerly 500+) has contributed to improving the quality of life of families with children, especially large families in a difficult financial situation, but it has not solved the demographic crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An interesting topic taken up during the conference was the so-called soft measures, i.e. actions that can indirectly affect the stability of the family’s legal situation. Such issues include, for example, issues related to mediation, which were discussed by Anna Kremplewska (PhD Candidate ASzWoj) in her lecture entitled The role of mediation in strengthening family bonds and resolving conflicts. A similar positive role can be played by combating crime among young people, as Asea Ga\u0161pari\u0107 (PhD Candidate CEA) spoke about in her paper Addressing Youth Crime as a Demographic Strategy: Legal Models from Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
