The Oxford debate entitled \u201d Censorship in Social Networks and Fake News in Social Networks\u201d was held on May 31, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., by means of remote communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was organized by the Institute of Justice, Ferenc M\u00e1dl Institute of Comparative Law, Central European Comparative Law Association and the Scientific Circle of Criminal Procedure of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszy\u0144ski University in Warsaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Oxford Debate was organized within the framework of the Central European Professors\u2019 Network 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two teams: Polish and Hungarian took part in the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event started with an official welcome to the guests and participants of the Debate by the Director of the Justice Institute, Dr hab. Marcin Wielec, Head of the research group \u201cThe impact of digital platforms and social media on freedom of expression and pluralism\u201d in Central European Professors\u2019 Network 2021, Tutor of the Scientific Circle of Criminal Procedure of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszy\u0144ski University and the Director of the Ferenc M\u00e1dl Institute of Comparative Law (hereafter: FMI), Prof. Ede Janos Szilagyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Coordinator of the Centre for Strategic Analysis of the Institute of Justice, Bart\u0142omiej Or\u0119ziak, also took the floor and ceremonially welcomed the guests and participants. In his speech, he explained the rules of the Oxford Debate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The moderator of the event, Maria Fr\u00f3g- Pilch, took the floor, introduced the Hungarian and Polish teams, and started the debate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
