On 21-22 March 2024, the Central European Academy 2024 organised a conference entitled "Federalism and the Future of The Diverse EU" in cooperation with the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Miskolc, the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law and the Central European Comparative Law Association.

The aim of the conference was to examine how the Member States of the European Union, and in particular the individual institutions, are (and can be) working to achieve co-existence, and what processes and institutions need to be rethought (e.g. redefining EU and Member State competences, reviewing the principle of pre-emption, better understanding the process of federalism, ever closer union, etc.).
