Professor profile

About

Paweł Sobczyk holds a postdoctoral degree in legal sciences. He is an Associate Professor at Opole University, where he also serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration. Additionally, he is the head of the Department of State and Legal Studies, the coordinator of the Fundamental Rights Research Centre, and the Deputy Director of the Institute of Justice in Warsaw. He is a member of several scientific societies and editorial boards, including „Przegląd Sejmowy”.

He has authored over 100 scientific publications, more than 30 expert and legal opinions, and over 70 review articles. His research areas traditionally include constitutional law, religious law, and human rights. His recent academic interests focus on the axiology of law, the multi-centricity of legal systems, and the principle of justice.

He was a member of the research group `Protection of family in the legal system´ in the Central European Professors’ Network 2021. He was head of the research group ‘Content of the right to parental responsibility’ in the Central European Professors’ Network 2022.
