About

Prof. Dr. Varga Zs. András is a professor at the Department of Public Administration Law at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. He is currently the President of the Curia, former Judge of the Constitutional Court, former Chief Deputy Prosecutor. Previously, he was also the dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Pázmány Péter Catholic University. Member of the Venice Commission since 2013, He wrote his doctoral dissertation on the ombudsman system, and his habilitation topic was the control mechanisms of public administration.

He is a member of, among others, the European Law Institute, the EU Administrative Law Research Network (ReNEUAL), the Institute for the Rule of Law (Lublin), and a member of the editorial board of several legal journals. He is the author of numerous monographs and other publications. His main research areas are the rule of law, constitutionalism and human rights, public administration and its control forms.
