Davor Derenčinović is a professor of criminal law and criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb. President of the Croatian Academy of Law. International expert and consultant for international organizations (UN, Council of Europe) and law firms in the field of criminal law, human rights and the fight against corruption.

With regard to Croatia, he was elected as a judge of the European Court of Human Rights for a nine-year term starting on January 2, 2022. Chairman and member of the Council of Europe’s expert group dealing with action against human trafficking (2009-2012, 2017-2020).
