About

Marta Dragičević Prtenjača is an Associate Professor of criminal law at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law. She teaches criminal law, juvenile criminal law, and misdemeanour law at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is the vice-president of the Croatian Academy of Legal Sciences, a member of the Croatian Criminal Science and Practice Society, and was a member of the working group involved in preparing guidelines on conflicts of interest in businesses for the International Chamber of Commerce.

Marta Dragičević Prtenjača has participated in the development of numerous laws and their amendments, including the current criminal code. She has been a researcher in various projects, including the University of Zagreb’s IPA-2008 project, the Croatian Science Foundation (CSF) Multidisciplinary Research Cluster on transitional crime—human trafficking, corruption, and economic crime—and the Max Planck Institute’s WISKOS project. She is currently a researcher with the Central European Professors Network and is involved in two CSF projects: the Croatian Innocence Project (CroINOP) and the Croatian Misdemeanour Law in the European Context—Challenges and Perspectives (PrePraHR).

She was a member of the research group ‘Right to privacy’ in the Central European Professors’ Network 2022. She was a member of the research group ‘The international concept of the rule of law’ in the Central European Professors’ Network 2023.

She is author in the following books of the CEA Publishing: (a) Criminal Legal Studies. Perspectives on Analysis of Certain Central European Countries’ Legislation and Practice (2023), (c) Supranational Interpretation of the Rule of Law (2024), (d) The rights of the child in public law – Central European Comparative perspective (2024). She is the author of scientific articles published in the following scientific journal(s) of the CEA Publishing: (a) Law, Identity and Values, (b) Central European Journal of Comparative Law.
