About
Emese Florian is a Full Professor of Family Law at the Faculty of Law, “Babeș-Bolyai” University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She teaches and researches Family Law and Matrimonial Property Regimes. She also supports the course on the Protection of Incapacitated Persons within the Private Law Institutions master’s degree programme organised by the Faculty.
Her bibliography contains 13 books as sole author – university textbooks and monographs, a significant number of book chapters and articles published mainly in national journals, coordinator of several books on family law topics. She is the co-author of the first Romanian commentary on new Romanian Civil Code (Codul civil. Comentariu pe articole, C.H. Beck Editions, Bucharest, published in three editions – 2012, 2014, 2021).

She is a member of the Scientific Council of the Journal of Family Law (Universul Juridic Publishing House, Bucharest) and of the Scientific Council of Judicial Courier Journal (C.H. Beck Publishing House, Bucharest). In 2021 she received the „Ion P. Filipescu” Prize – Opera Omnia, awarded by the Family Law Review in recognition of her contribution to research in the field of Family Law.
