Changes in the structure and scope of foreign service activity

More about the research objective

The objectives of the research group are to examine changes in the functioning of consular and diplomatic circulation of countries, looking primarily from the perspective of Central European countries. The rules of the foreign service and, above all, consular functions are subject to significant changes over the years. Some diplomatic institutions (e.g., diplomatic asylum) are also subject to a kind of evolution. These changes are generated by the cooperation of states but are also influenced by various external factors, such as the computerization of work. In its studies, the research group deals with the issue of changes in diplomatic circulation and, above all, domestic and international consular law in its various aspects - civil, administrative or criminal law. It also analyzes the changing construction of the norms of this law and studies the various categories of foreign service bodies and emerging new state administrative entities performing functions in the field of legal turnover with foreign countries.
