The interpretation of fundamental rights in Europe

More about the research objective

This research group was set up to analyse the application of fundamental rights in the constitutional courts of seven European countries (Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia), the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights, and to explore the practice of interpreting these rights in the same fora.
In this context, it is necessary to examine how each forum applies and interprets fundamental rights, and the extent to which the "case law" and the interpretation of fundamental rights in each forum differ (i.e. what are the similarities or differences).
