Leadership profile

Introduction

As the Director General of the Central European Academy of the University of Miskolc (hereinafter: the Academy), he/she is responsible for ensuring that the Academy operates in accordance with its core activities. In this capacity, he/she exercises employer’s rights over employees and the rights of the principal in relation to contractual engagements for work. A key responsibility is the supervision and organisation of international comparative legal research conducted within the Academy, as well as facilitating support for research, education, publishing, and outreach activities. Through the Research Centre, the Director General also performs leadership and management duties related to the Central European Professors’ Network, the internship subprogramme of the Central European Junior Programme, and the operation of the “CEA Publishing” publishing house.

It cooperates with the Rector of the founding University, the President of the Ferenc Deák Doctoral School of Law and Political Science and the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science in the tasks covered by its activities.

Tímea Barzó Heinerné has been serving as the Director General of the Academy (CEA UM) since 1 July 2022. In addition to leading the Academy, she is also a head of department professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Miskolc, where her research areas include health law, civil law—particularly personality rights—and family law.

Tímea Heinerné Barzó studied law at the University of Miskolc, where she obtained her PhD degree and habilitation. Her work experience has also been linked to the University of Miskolc since the beginning of her professional career. Currently, he is the Vice-Chairman of the Doctoral Council of the Ferenc Deák School of Law and Political Sciences and the Chairman of the Ethics Committee of the University of Miskolc.

Tímea Heinerné Barzó is a part-time professor at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the National University of Public Service.

Tímea Heinerné Barzó has been a member of the Central European Professors' Network since its inception in 2021. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the CEA Publishing 'Young Researchers' Monographs' and 'Quintessence Monograph Series', and is also a member of the editorial board of several other CEA Publishing journals and book series.

Heinerné Barzó Tímea has more than 20 years of practical experience as a lawyer.
